Personalized Learning Survey
Posted on 04/11/2018
Thank you for your willingness to take a few minutes to complete this survey. The purpose of the survey is to assess our district’s readiness towards blended and more personalized learning. We are fortunate to be a part of the Colorado Empowered Learning program that provides no cost consulting and assistance toward improved student achievement and learning. There may be questions that seem confusing or for which you do not have an answer - that is expected! Do not hesitate to mark “I do not know” when you do not know. We will use the results of this survey to help direct our path forward toward serving our students and providing the best possible learning opportunities for them.  READ MORE...

Superintendent's Message -- 02/21/2018
Posted on 02/21/2018
Wednesday, February 21 was a successful school day. Thank you to the Brush Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff's Department for investigating the potential threat, mitigating that threat, and then providing a presence today to add another layer of safety and confidence as we attempted to conduct business as usual. Thank you to school district employees for your efforts "above and beyond" to assist our students in feeling safe and maintaining a quality learning environment. Thank you parents for your trust in our partnership with you. We will continue to make every effort to provide a safe learning environment and use all resources available to us to achieve that end. We look forward to returning to more regular day but will continue with an elevated level of awareness toward school safety and an increased resolve to provide our students with world-class educational opportunities.  READ MORE...

District Makes Good on Tax Promise!
Posted on 12/22/2017
The Brush School Board, at its December 13 meeting, established their Mill Rate for the 2018 year. The district had committed to voters in the 2016 General Election that passage of the proposed MLO and Bond initiatives would collectively result in tax increases projected to total $10.71 per $100,000 of home value per month and $ 128.52 per year. Working with GK Baum from the outset, the district used the expertise of the established firm and a conservative approach to the bond market to ensure quality projections.  READ MORE...

Testing Data Release: 2017 PARCC Test Results with 2016 Comparison Brush School District RE-2J
Posted on 08/24/2017
The test results from this past spring’s state assessments have been released. As you can quickly surmise, our students’ performance on these tests fall noticeably below the Colorado state average. We are aware that our students’ achievement levels are not in line with the goals of the district, nor are they indicative of our students’ abilities. Please know that we are currently reviewing, revising, and aligning our curriculum to ensure that our students achievement levels and learning are in step with expectations on the state assessments and accurately reflect the teaching and learning taking place in our schools.  READ MORE...

Solar Eclipse
Posted on 08/17/2017
Dear Parents/Guardians: As I am sure you all are aware, there will be a solar eclipse on our first day of school, August 21st . In preparation for the event, we ordered “viewing glasses” for all of our students and staff. We received the glasses but also received notification from Amazon (the company through which the glasses were ordered) explaining that they could not verify the quality of some of the glasses in terms of protection of the eyes. Amazon refunded our money and recommends that we not use the glasses in question. Upon further research, we have determined that some of the glasses are not on the “safety approved” list.  READ MORE...

Thomson Primary CLOSED August 9th and 10th
Posted on 08/08/2017
Last spring we experienced an issue with bed bugs in one of our classrooms at TPS. We contracted with an exterminator and were assured that the issue would be addressed this summer. We are not convinced that the extermination was completed with the fidelity we desire. Thus, we are taking precautionary measures to ensure complete extermination of any unwanted insects or bugs by fumigating the entire school. This will require Thomson to be CLOSED on August 9 and August 10. Registration will be held on Friday, August 11 as we have been assured that the building will be safe and ready for full use on that day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding as we ensure that this issue has been properly and completely addressed.  READ MORE...
