State Assessment Opt Out Information
Posted on 01/29/2020
Brush RE-2J values the partnership we have with parents in educating students. Parents (or legal guardians) have the right to excuse their student out of specific standardized assessments, which in their determination are not in the best interests of the student. Recently, the State Board of Education has taken action to once again make changes to the way in which our students and schools are evaluated and rated. The Brush School District has concerns and we question the benefits of the time currently devoted to the tests and whether such time would be better spent on continuing instruction. We have included the form by which you can exercise your right to “OPT” for your child not to take the state tests. Click here for more info.  READ MORE...

I know there are several rumors and falsehoods flying around so I wanted to remind everyone that we have policies and procedures that guide our actions in all events pertaining to student, staff, and community safety. Let me assure you that those were followed in this situation. Click here for more info.  READ MORE...
